12 Psychological Thrillers That Will Definitely Become the Best of What You Look in 2020

As renowned for her morose nature as she is for her horror fiction, writer Shirley Jackson (Elizabeth Moss) is crafting yet another masterpiece when the arrival of newlyweds Fred and Rose disrupt her creative process and marriage to literary critic – and philandering professor – Stanley Hyman (Michael Stuhlbarg). As Stanley spars to maintain academic dominance over his would-be protégé Fred, Rose attempts to dampen her own ambitions and adjust to married life while living under the roof of their fiery intellectual hosts with quicksilver loyalties and myriad neuroses. When the motives of Shirley’s literary muse prove elusive, Rose’s curiosity and trusting nature make her tender prey for a brilliant author whose only allegiance is to her work.

The Night House (2020)

A new film from the horror specialist, known for the film “Ritual” and the series “Kaleidoscope of Horrors.” The brilliant cast and good rating even more inspire to watch.

The husband of school teacher Beth committed suicide after 14 years of marriage. Beth was completely unstuck: she got away from friends, started drinking, and in a strange way she feels the presence of her husband. Having decided to figure it out, she discovers terrible secrets that she should not have known.

Escape from Pretoria (2020)

A screen version of Tim Jenkin’s biographical book, Inside and Out: Escape from Pretoria Prison. This story of two freedom fighters serving sentences in one of the most severe prisons in the world is already being compared with the legendary Shawshank Redemption.

Pretoria is a terrible place: getting out of it is much harder than dying. Confident in their innocence, not wanting to wait for fate, the heroes plan a daring escape.

Inheritance (2020)

The second film directed by Von Stein, who manages to attract world-class stars to his projects. Simon Pegg lost 12 kg for his role in The Dark Heritage.

The plot focuses on Lauren Monroe – the district attorney and daughter of the owner of a multi-million dollar empire. Using hints, screenwriters provide viewers with an opportunity to independently figure out what this message means.

The Rhythm Section (2020)

Blake Lively stars as Stephanie Patrick, an ordinary woman on a path of self-destruction after her family is tragically killed in a plane crash. When Stephanie discovers that the crash was not an accident, she enters a dark, complex world to seek revenge on those responsible and find her own redemption. Based on the novel by Mark Burnell, from director Reed Morano (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and the producers of the James Bond film series, The Rhythm Section also stars Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown.

Promising Young Woman (2020)

Another tape about the revenge thriller. Kesi is a beautiful, smart and promising student at a prestigious medical university. A bright future awaited her, if not for a tragic accident. Now the girl leads a double life: she earns money in a cafe and takes revenge on all the men who come across her on the way.

The film was taken by the creator of the 2nd season of the series “Killing Eve” Emirald Fennel. She managed to collect a brilliant cast and skillfully combine the intense thriller and light comedy.

The Hunt (2020)

“Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are — or how they got there. A Fall from Grace (2020)

His House (2020)

Surge (2020)

Joseph is a modest guy who lives in London and serves at the airport. His whole life is a home and work, but relations with colleagues do not work out at all. Joseph is so inconspicuous that only his parents remember his birthday. It becomes the last straw and awakens a real hurricane in it.

The events of the film take place on the streets of London for 24 hours, while the main character is trying to finally find himself.
